Heligan: Inspired by Nature

  • 27th Feb 2019

Marine and Natural History Photography Students came to explore The Lost Gardens of Heligan back in October 2018 as part of an organised field trip. The first year students from Falmouth University were given an introduction to the wildlife and habitats present within the 200acre estate and were invited to explore the gardens.

As part of the field trip, the Students were invited to enter a photography competition taking inspiration from the Natural History at The Lost Gardens of Heligan. The Competition allowed the students to enter the gardens between October and December providing the opportunity to get up close and personal and achieve some great shots.

The Heligan Marketing and Wildlife Team selected the top five winning images and the top ten highly commended Images from the entries to create the Heligan: Inspired by Nature exhibit.

Top 5 winning images are featured below.

The team also picked ten highly commended images, these are featured below.

Images from the entries were used to create the Heligan: Inspired by Nature exhibit which was on display as part of our ‘Love Nature’ event. We hope that their work inspires you to view The Lost Gardens of Heligan from a different perspective and get creative on your next visit.
