We're dog friendly

Dogs with well-behaved owners are welcome to the Gardens all year round!

The perfect dog walk

The Lost Gardens offer a perfect walk for you and your four-legged friend, with miles of pathways and routes to explore. When it comes to dog friendly places to visit, we get a (muddy) paw print of approval: here’s Maisie giving a dog’s eye view of a Heligan walk...

We kindly ask that dogs are kept on their lead at all times as we have a variety of rare livestock and poultry around the site. In addition, it minimises disturbance to other visitors as well as our resident wildlife.

Dogs on leads are welcome in both the Heligan Kitchen and The Steward's House for when you would like to stop for drink and a bite to eat on your visit.

There are a number of dog waste bins conveniently located around the gardens. On arrival, you’ll be given a free garden map, on which the bin locations are clearly marked.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer any shaded parking areas for vehicles carrying dogs and advise against leaving your dog in a vehicle whilst visiting us.

We thank you for your co-operation.
