Hospitality Team Member

Hours: Seasonal hours, with the potential for permanent contracted hours, dependent on experience

Pay: £12.60p/h, we are a Living Wage employer

Reporting to: Hospitality Operations Manager and Hospitality Supervisors

We are looking for enthusiastic Hospitality Team Members to join our team.

You will have a passion for customer service and enjoy working in a fast-paced Front of House operation. You will have the opportunity to work in five outlets across site, each serving a variety of food and drink to over 350,000 visitors per year.

We are looking for team members who can,

  • Be an advocate for the Heligan food story and promote use of our own Kitchen Garden and livestock to our visitors.
  • Ensure high standards of presentation, service and hygiene in all Hospitality outlets including Heligan Kitchen & Bakery, Garden Bites Takeaway, Stewards House, Meadow Kitchen and BBQ.
  • Deliver an excellent and profitable food and drink offer. Good product knowledge and upselling where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate excellent barista skills in preparation of various coffees.
  • Good knowledge of alcoholic beverages and legal standards, including wine knowledge and cocktail service.
  • Take part in both front and back of house operations where necessary, which includes, tills, food service, table clearing, hot drink making, ice cream service, alcohol service, event setups, kitchen assistant, stock movement.
  • Service at weddings, private events and Lost Suppers, as well as corporate events across site.
  • Be smart, polite and helpful at all times, creating an exceptional standard of visitor experience across all Hospitality areas.

You will have a background in Hospitality, having worked in restaurants, hotels, and/or similar tourist attractions. Visitor satisfaction is of the upmost importance with a range of tourists from out of county and abroad, to locals and members. You must be warm and welcoming to all, ensuring they have received the best from their visit with us. No day will be the same when working in Hospitality, providing support to fellow team members while delivering an excellent food and drink offer.

Requirements

  • Previous experience desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Cash handling and good numerical skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and other staff members.
  • High levels of attention to detail.
  • Physically able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Willing to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays as needed.
  • Ability to use FOH equipment such as coffee machines, glasswashers, etc.
