Heligan Team News - Charity Rides and Drives

This September, Heligan is proud to support two members of our team as they raise money for three very important local charities who have helped both Martin and Andrew in the past.

On Friday, Andrew Thurgate from the Heligan Maintenance Team, will board a train to Scotland where he will begin his mammoth cycle ride from John O'Groats to Land's End along the GB DIVIDE.

Andrew's journey will see him camping in the wild on top of tackling over 1200 miles of roads, gravel, single track trails and everything in between.

I'm cycling to raise money for 2 mental health charities: Man Down Cornwall and Cornwall Mind. The reason I've chosen them is that back in December I had a breakdown, things got very messy, and I had to call upon mental health charities for support.

Switching to four wheels, Sunday September 25th will see Martin, from Heligan Reception and the Tickets Office, setting off on an epic seven day road trip through Europe.

During the seven days, Martin and his mum, will don fancy dress in their trusty £500 Nissan Almera on the way to Porto in Portugal.

Martin's team "Team Apeocalypse" will be helping to raise vital funds for Cornwall Hospice Care who are a charity close to the family's hearts.

This huge trip will also help Martin face some of his own personal fears head on and will see him driving abroad for the first time ever!

If you are able to help Martin on Andrew with a donation of any size, they'd be hugely appreciative.

We wish Andrew and Martin the best of luck.
