Homecoming Presents: The Pine Hunters

  • 3rd Dec 2025
  • 5:30pm doors open at 5pm

To round up the 2025 series of ‘Homecoming Presents’, join us for a special winter evening in conversation with film-maker Ted Simpson and forest ecologists Sam Manning and Lou Astbury.

Through the screening of The Pine Hunters - a moving portrait of Scotland’s last wild pines - it will inspire thoughts and story of our relationship with these incredible trees, our belonging to land, the troubles of the uplands and how we might imagine our connection with them for the future.

The wild pines of Britain are a symbol of resilience, restoration and renewal; considered by ancients to power the return of the sun in the darkest of winter months. This festive session is a celebration of our native pine and how reconnecting to living systems can inspire abundant future ecologies.
