Home Educators
At Heligan, we welcome home-educating families . Our gardens, woodland, farm and jungle are living classrooms, full of opportunities for your children to explore, play and learn surrounded by nature.
Heligan's new Home Ed Rangers is here
Due to popular demand, we are delighted to announce the launch of our fortnightly Heligan Home Ed Rangers sessions for home-educating families!
We recognise that education is changing with councils recording 126,000 electively home-educated children in the Autumn of 2025.
We are excited to be able to support home educating families and to bring the beauty of the natural world to life through hands on, experiential learning.
Get ready to explore, discover, play and learn outdoors with a wonderful group of like-minded families.
Workshops
Looking for something more bespoke? Our experienced Learning Team runs a wide range of engaging and interactive workshops that bring learning to life among Heligan’s gardens and wild spaces.
Workshops are available for groups of 8 or more children. This makes them a perfect option for:
Home education groups, co-ops or communities
Families who’d like to book together with friends
Please note: at least two adults will need to remain with the group throughout the session. Large numbers of children will need additional adults to stay – we are happy to discuss this with you on booking.
Whether you’d like a relaxed family day of discovery or a focused workshop, we’d love to support your home education journey.

Independent visits
Enjoy the freedom to discover Heligan at your own pace.
We offer discounted entry rates for home-educating families visiting on weekdays during term-time. To make your visit even more rewarding, our learning team is happy to:
• suggest activities, routes and areas of the gardens to suit your topic or project
• point you towards our free downloadable worksheets and ID tools to support your learning journey (coming soon).
