Join us for an inspiring and informative day at The Lost Gardens of Heligan as we welcome Simon Kellam from Just Bee Eco Hives for a workshop dedicated to natural, bee-centred beekeeping.
Whether you are an experienced beekeeper seeking more sustainable methods, completely new to the craft, or simply passionate about supporting wild honeybees, this workshop offers a thoughtful and practical introduction to alternative bee guardianship.
A portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the Natural Beekeeping Trust, helping to support their vital work in promoting more harmonious relationships between humans and honeybees.
What to Expect
The day includes a blend of classroom learning and an estate walk to observe free-living bees in their natural habitats. Simon will guide you through a range of topics, including:
-
Free-living bees and how they thrive without human intervention
-
The benefits of creating habitat for wild bees
-
A bee-centred approach to apiculture
-
Practical adaptations for more natural hive management
