Homecoming Presents: Tylan Berry

We are excited to invite you to join us this autumn as we launch an inspirational new programme at The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Homecoming Presents will welcome authors, musicians, poets, horticulturists, chefs, artists and thought leaders to Cornwall for intimate evenings and important conversations. 

Continuing our autumn programme, we are delighted to welcome local spider specialist Tylan Berry.

Tylan will be sharing what makes spiders unique, why they are so special and where they live. The "three bays" area, in which Heligan sits, is quite important for some scarcer species of spider. Join us as we learn about the key areas and habitats that these species live in, looking at how our unique local habitats support a variety of different species. Tylan will share his tips for how we can search for these fascinating arachnids and what we can do to help them. 

About Tylan

Tylan has a lifelong passion for discovering and identifying British spiders, spending much of his time working to help widen the profile of the UK spider fauna. Having completed a degree in environmental resource management he currently works for Natural England where he is most often found looking for spiders on our rather beautiful, but precarious, Cornish sea cliffs.
