200 Acres: A Celebration of Heligan’s Wildlife

  • 3 May - 30 Sep:

Step into the extraordinary world of wildlife at Heligan with 200 Acres, a captivating new exhibition celebrating the natural world at Heligan.

Our 200 acres of gardens and estate bring together a mosaic of habitats - from wetlands and watercourses to ancient woodlands, meadows, farmland, and formal historic gardens - all of which create a diverse environment where wildlife is given the opportunity to thrive in harmony with us.

The exhibition, overlooking the pastures of West Lawn, features a selection of striking photographs of wildlife species at Heligan, captured by our Head of Restoration, Andy Wilson. Since 2020, Andy has been documenting the wild inhabitants of our estate and gardens, creating a unique and intimate portrait of the life within our landscapes.

This exhibition is inspired by Dwell, a collection of poetry by Simon Armitage, Poet Laureate, which celebrates our wild creatures and the habitats in which they live.
