Plants to lookout for
Pelargoniums
Discover Pelargoniums as you’ve never seen them before. Far beyond familiar summer bedding, this remarkable genus offers a world of scent, form and charm. From leaves fragrant with rose, lemon, mint or even cola, to delicately flowered wild species native to Southern Africa.
Exceptionally rewarding and easy to grow, pelargoniums thrive in pots, borders and greenhouses alike, flowering generously over a long season. Whether you’re drawn to their aromatic foliage or their sculptural, often unusual forms, these plants bring character, history and quiet beauty to any growing space.
Cornish Roses
Perfectly suited to our Cornish climate, these roses from The Cornish Rose Company are chosen for their strength, health and outstanding disease resistance. Whether you’re shaping a border with shrubs, adding height with climbers, or creating romance with ramblers, these reliable varieties are bred to thrive for years to come. Roses also shine in pots—lifting colour and fragrance closer to the home, from doorways and patios to balconies and seating areas. Simple to grow and endlessly rewarding, they offer classic beauty with modern resilience.
Echiums
Bold, dramatic and unmistakably coastal, Echiums bring instant impact to the summer garden. Best known for their towering spires of nectar-rich flowers in shades of blue, purple, pink and white, they are a magnet for bees and pollinators. While some species make a spectacular two-year statement before setting seed, others remain smaller and easily managed—perfect for experimenting gardeners. Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, Echiums capture the wild spirit of Cornwall and reward even minimal care with unforgettable flowering displays.
