Herbal Pharmacy - Making a Herbal Hedgerow Syrup
- 24th Oct 2026
- 1:30 - 3:30
Ruth Weaver, aka Apothecary Forager, joins us for an interactive workshop exploring the herbal habitat of Heligan and the autumn fruits growing around us, connecting seasonal plants with the science and energetics of modern herbal medicine.
Drawing on 16 years of clinical herbal practice, Ruth introduces an accessible and hands-on approach to herbal remedy making. Together, you’ll explore seasonal medicines and create your own autumn berry syrup to take home.
Herbal medicine is the oldest form of medicine and is the form of traditional healthcare most chemically similar to modern pharmaceutical medicine. Herbs can contain hundreds or thousands of tangible active compounds that affect healing mechanisms within the body. Ruth specialises in native and naturalised herbal medicine, honouring the abundant herbs available in the British Isles and Europe – plants that we have evolved alongside.
Ruth holds a BSc. (Hons) in Herbal Medicine and has over 16 years of clinical experience as a herbalist.
