Family beaver quest
Set off on a family adventure to Heligan's hidden beaver wetland. Guided by one of our Rangers, you'll wander through the orchard and woodland before becoming wildlife detectives, searching for beaver dams, lodges, gnawed branches, felled trees and tracks.
Discover how Heligan's growing family of beavers is transforming the landscape and creating thriving habitats for other wildlife. It's a unique opportunity to get closer to nature and inspire curious young explorers.
Please note:
Please note that this event will take place in an area of the Heligan estate that is quite steep and potentially muddy in places.
We'd advise sturdy waterproof footwear or wellies and the ability to duck under a fence at the bottom of the valley! We'd also suggest long sleeve and trousers as we may head into the undergrowth.
The meeting point will be at the Hollow, which is located to the right of the Ticket Office.
No pathways have yet been created so it is not wheelchair or buggy accessible. Children must be accompanied by an adult and we ask that dogs are not brought to the tour.
We ask that guests do not use cameras with a flash.
Food and drink will not be provided so you are more than welcome to bring a drink and snack if you wish.
Guests are welcome to bring binoculars and a torch/head torch for the walk back.
