During this exciting evening experience, you’ll uncover how bats navigate, communicate and hunt in the darkness, learning all about these amazing nocturnal creatures and the important role they play in our natural world.
As dusk falls, join our knowledgeable nature guide and head out into Heligan’s beautiful gardens for a twilight wildlife adventure. Armed with a specialist bat detector, you’ll listen for the secret sounds of bats and keep your eyes peeled for them emerging from their roosts and swooping through the evening sky.
Perfect for curious children and grown-up nature lovers alike, Family Bat Quest is a wonderful opportunity to explore Heligan after dark, discover local wildlife and make magical family memories together.

Please note:
Please note that this event will take place in an area of the Heligan estate that is potentially muddy in places.
We'd advise sturdy waterproof footwear or wellies. We'd also suggest long sleeve and trousers as we may head into the undergrowth.
The meeting point will be at the Hollow, which is located to the right of the Ticket Office.
Children must be accompanied by an adult and we ask that dogs are not brought to the tour.
We ask that guests do not use cameras with a flash.
Food and drink will not be provided so you are more than welcome to bring a drink and snack if you wish.
Guests are welcome to bring binoculars and a torch/head torch for the walk.
