Head of food

The Lost Gardens of Heligan is looking for a talented, creative and enthusiastic head of food to help write the next chapter of the food story at one of Britain’s most beloved gardens.

Food is fundamental to the Heligan experience and the successful candidate for this role will be responsible for developing and enhancing Heligan’s culinary offer, while maintaining its unique link between estate and plate.

The ideal candidate will be a senior chef who is as comfortable designing and creating dishes as they are running a busy kitchen and managing day-to-day operations across a diverse portfolio of outlets.

They will be passionate about using the best local, seasonal and responsibly sourced ingredients and will be willing to work closely alongside Heligan’s farm and garden teams to incorporate ingredients grown on the estate into the menus.

Their enthusiasm for Heligan’s food ethos will be palpable and they will be a confident and passionate communicator.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 15th February 2026 but may close sooner if the right candidate is found.

Salary will be between £45,000 and £50,000 annually, dependent on experience.
