During the recent lockdown, Heligan’s Productive Garden being left unable to produce seemed like a crime. Here was a two-acre horticultural machine, designed to produce food, lying idle. Here was a kitchen garden needing to be gardened with a supply of expert but furloughed gardeners ready to do the gardening. An abundance of camellias continues to embellish the Gardens, the Magnolia campbellii is erupting to life with candyfloss pink flowers and the magnificent daffodil carpet is sweeping across the Gardens can only mean one thing: spring has arrived at The Lost Gardens.
