Tim and Jimmy’s Yarn in the Barn
Join the president of RBST, Jimmy Doherty, alongside Sir Tim Smit as they embark on conversations about the restoration of our landscape, the future of our native breeds, landscape biodiversity and the connections to food and to ourselves.
As Britain’s youngest ever president of The Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST), Jimmy flies the flag for native breeds and the importance of protecting them and their genetics to protect our future.
We are thrilled to have Jimmy join us, here at Cornwall’s and the South West’s only Rare Breeds Farm Park, to share his experiences with the aim of motivating and inspiring future generations. As one of the founding directors of ‘Jimmy’s Farm’ in Suffolk, he is host to over 300 rare breed pigs! Jimmy’s farm comprises of a working farm, a wildlife park, gardens, a restaurant, a farm shop and a butchery. Jimmy’s passion for wildlife and Britain’s countryside and farming traditions is evident. Sustainable farming and quality meat and food production is at the heart of everything that he does.
At Heligan we believe that plant and animal wellbeing have a direct impact on human and planetary wellbeing, and we are keen to explore the role that we can all play in impacting our future, which is of our making.
With obvious shared passions and boundless enthusiasm, be prepared to be inspired, entertained, challenged and reconnected to what the future of British food and Farming may be as you join Tim and Jimmy for an hour of ‘countryside conversations’, here on Heligan’s Home farm.
You will be provided with an opportunity to put your questions to the duo (do come with great questions prepared!) and to be part of the start of some very important conversations that we hope you will take away and continue.
