Summer Adventures…and The Trail of the Wildflower Fairies

Saturday 23rd July - Sunday 4th September 2022

Summers full of adventure, fuelled by stories and enthused imaginations, and surrounded by nature’s beauty are the summers that are cemented in the best of our memories.

This Summer we welcome visitors to have your senses awakened, your curiosity restored, and your visit filled with the simple pleasure of the natural world as you follow the trail of the Wildflower Fairies.

Wildflowers lure us into the present moment with the miracle of their beauty. This Spring, our eleven acres of wildflower meadow await nature’s touch to bloom into swathes of colour. Stories of busy pollinators and spirited soil are strong sources of wonder, but stories of the fairies, guardians of nature, are stories that remain untold besides whispers that many seek to delight in.

Do you believe in fairies?

As history and folklore describe, Wildflower Fairies are tiny, magical creatures that live in the treetops and meadows, the gardens, the waterside and the woodland floor. Wherever and whenever a seed is sown, a Flower Fairy is born. Each Flower Fairy lives and sleeps in their chosen flower, plant, or tree, and as this grows the fairy grows too. Each Wildflower Fairy oversees their flower or plant; keeping it strong and healthy by ensuring it has plenty of sunshine and water, sweeping away dead leaves, and polishing the flowers and stems. Or so the fables say…

Let your imagination run wild as our magical adventure trail leads you to discover the protectors of nature. Look out for over 60 willow sculptures designed to surprise and delight as you explore the Lost Gardens and its enchanting estate.

As you wander through our wildflower woodlands, vibrant meadows and abundant gardens, which Flower Fairies will you discover hiding within our magical summer garden? The Bold Cornflower, Bright Marigolds, Prominent Poppies, Scented Chamomile, or the Summer Buttercup to name but a few. Which Fairy will share their enchanting story with you?

Relaxed sessions: 9am-10.30am 28th July 11th & 25th August. Assistance dogs only accepted to enter the gardens during these relaxed sessions. Booked via Heligan reception.
