Roots So Deep (you can see the devil down there), Pre Premiere

Join us for an exclusive day event at Heligan, the world Pre-Premiere of Peter Byck’s Documentary series ‘Roots So Deep (you can see the devil down there) ’. This is a unique opportunity to be one of the first to watch this pioneering documentary series, with intro from Sir Tim Smit and Director Q&A, while enjoying the magical gardens, estate and luxury dining experience of The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

A world Pre-Premiere from the award-winning film producer and activist Peter Byck

Roots So Deep is 4-part documentary series all about inventive farmers and maverick scientists building a path to solving climate change with hooves, heart and soil. Guided by director and wrangler of scientists, Peter Byck explores how a novel way to graze cattle – mimicking roaming bison - can help get farmers out of debt, restore depleted soils and draw down huge amounts of carbon.

Experience the world Pre-Premiere of this 4-part documentary from the atmospheric Home Farm at Heligan. While our rare breed Longwools chew the cud beside you in the barn, listen as Sir Tim Smit and Director Peter Byck explore if this new adaptive grazing could help slow down climate change. A Director’s Q&A session will follow the films.

Eat the land and restore the soil – a luxury dining experience between episodes

Bringing the themes of the films to life, regenerative pioneer Chef Nat Tallents will be sharing a five course tasting menu, showcasing the finest homegrown heritage produce and rare breed meats from the Heligan Estate.

Sunday 10th July 1.30 – 9pm

Tickets £50, includes two cinematic experiences showing 4x 1hr documentaries in the form of episodes 1, 2, 3 and 4 (including refreshments), directors Q&A and a 5 course tasting menu from Heligan’s Lost Supper chef Nat Tallents.
