Pass Holder Event - Gillyflower Farm Tours

  • 31 Jul: 11am

Heligan Members and Local Pass holders are invited to join Gillyflower Gardener Tess  on a tour of Gillyflower’s five-year-old orchard, planted in a traditionally Cornish non-intensive system.

During the tour, Tess will talk about the idea behind Gillyflower and the 14 different apple varieties along with their uses and a little of their history.

You’ll explore how to manage orchards for improving biodiversity and longevity and be able to walk through the gage orchard discussing growing trees in Cornish climate - such as Almonds and how the team manage pest and disease practices.

Our exclusive Heligan Member and Local Pass holder tours of Gillyflower’s lower apple & gage orchards will be held on the following dates;

Wednesday 26th June - Fully booked
Saturday 29th June
Tuesday 16th July - Fully booked
Sunday 21st July

Each tour will begin at 11am and last around 1 hour 30 minutes. Due to the topography of the land sturdy footwear is strongly recommended.

As we are in the early stage of this exciting project, please be aware that there are no facilities at Gillyflower.

Tickets are free for pass holders, but we kindly ask that you book in advance.
