Delve into the fascinating world of Heligan’s Bats with our friends from the Cornwall Bat Group and members of the Heligan Wildlife Team. 5th-8th August.
Starting at the stretch tent on Stewards House Lawn and Supported by Cornwall Bat Group, we welcome you to learn about these intriguing nocturnal creatures, spot them as they emerge at dusk and see how many you can spot as you explore the historic Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Join the Heligan Wildlife team and Cornwall Bat Group to learn about why bats are so important, to complete a bat count of our resident colony of common pipistrelle bats and then enjoy an exclusive after dark bat walk around the enchanting Heligan Jungle to identify the bats that make Heligan their home.
Evening refreshments provided and hot food available upon arrival. (Please note that this is not included within ticket price).
Due to Heligan’s topography and terrain, parts of the route are very steep and not easily accessible and are therefore not suitable for those with walking difficulties, or for pushchairs. For the wellbeing of our local wildlife, we gratefully request no dogs allowed at these evening events.
We ask that participants come dressed appropriately for the Cornish weather with sturdy footwear. Please bring a notepad, camera, a torch and an explorer’s sense of adventure.
