FRIENDS OF HELIGAN

“Friends of Heligan” was started in 1992, when the gardens were first opened to the public. In our first year we enrolled 70 members and invested their subscriptions in plants for the Italian Garden, then recently rebuilt, as well as sacks of spring bulbs.

We now have around 1500 Friends, whose subscriptions are largely applied to items which will further specific projects within the ongoing restoration, for example new plant collections, improving the path network around the estate, equipping the bird hide and developing our library and archive.

We welcome the involvement of Friends in sharing any relevant special interests or experiences, to further the development of any aspect of the ongoing project here.

BENEFITS OF FRIENDSHIP

i. Friends are offered free admission to the gardens during normal opening hours. An additional charge may be made for special events scheduled during normal opening hours. From April to September inclusive, Friends are offered early admission on Fridays and Saturdays from 09:00hrs.
