PLANT SALES & PROPAGATION
Heligan Plant Sales is stocked with seeds, plants and bulbs in season, that largely reflect the plant collections you will see on your visit to the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Seeds
If your journey prevents you carrying bulky, perishable items, our seed collections should still enable you to depart with some of the unusual varieties we grow at Heligan. What we offer includes many of the traditional flowers, vegetables & herbs you will see in our restored productive gardens, as well as some of the more exotic species that thrive in our pleasure grounds and a large range of wildflowers.
Plants
Our outdoor Plant Sales similarly reflects the plant stock of the different areas at Heligan, including favourites from the Italian, New Zealand, Sundial and Jungle Gardens… grasses, herbs, ferns, exotics, herbaceous plants, shrubs and trees. Increasingly our stock is produced on site, at the Heligan Propagation Unit, either propagated from Heligan plant material or grown from seed; but we also purchase from local suppliers.
We would like to allay any customer concern about the spread of Phytophthora ramorum (Sudden Oak Death). We only purchase from suppliers with plant passports from DEFRA, and are not currently selling any Heligan propagated material of susceptible species.
We have a small selection of indoor plants, including citrus, banana and succulents – interesting, colourful and scented items around the year.
Bulbs
From late Summer we stock a huge selection of spring flowering bulbs, mostly produced on a local Cornish bulb farm, but supplemented by some imported varieties.
